Eating right and exercise is as important to the body as water and air. Denying your body good foods and exercise can lead to health disparities like obesity, heart problems, and diabetes. The body needs on average 3 to 4 cups of fruits AND vegetables per day and 8 to 10 ounces of whole grains. Remember, white flour products are not processed by the body the same as whole grains so if your body doesn’t break down the white flour it will turn to sugar and be processed like candy – through the liver. The body also needs 7 ounces of protein a day and 3 cups of milk and/or other dairy products per day.

Exercise is the other forgotten activity. Walk to the store instead of drive, walk to lunch instead of drive, take an evening family walk, and plan a weekend activity that includes exercise. Just one half hour at least five days a week will improve health, that’s only 2.5 hours a week – is that all! Exercise keeps bodily function operating correctly, burns calories, and stimulates brain activity producing natural happiness.
