What is Nicotine? Photobucket
It is a poison produced by tobacco plants for self defense, it helps keep insects from eating away at it. Nicotine is toxic enough to be sold as a pesticide.

Do you really want to inhale cyanide, formaldehyde, methanol, and ammonia?
Cigarette smoking is made attractive even though every cigarette contains literally, thousands of chemicals, most of them being very harmful. See this list of 599 chemicals added:

How can I tell if I should see my dentist or doctor?
If you see one or more of these signs, go right away:

  2. A white or red patch on the gums, tongue, tonsil, or lining of the mouth that will not go away
  3. A lump or thickening anywhere in your mouth or neck
  4. A sore throat or a feeling that something is caught in the throat
  5. Difficulty chewing, swallowing, moving the tongue or jaw
  6. Numbness of the tongue or other area of the mouth
  7. Swelling of the jaw that causes teeth to feel uncomfortable or dentures to fit poorly
  8. Loosing of the teeth or pain around the teeth or jaw
  9. Voice changes

2nd Hand Smoke

What if I do not smoke myself, but I am surrounded by people who do smoke?
That is called “second-hand smoke” and it is loaded with over 4,000 other chemicals, including some which are deadly poisons, including

  • There is no safe amount of secondhand smoke. Breathing even a little secondhand smoke can be dangerous.
  • Breathing secondhand smoke is a known cause of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Children are also more likely to have lung problems, ear infections, and severe asthma from being around smoke.
  • Secondhand smoke causes heart disease and lung cancer.
  • Separate “no smoking” sections DO NOT protect you from secondhand smoke. Neither does filtering the air or opening windows.
